Unity is an enterprise log management platform for troubleshooting, complex root-cause analysis, and deep forensics. I provided experience strategy and design leadership as well as invention of a macro capability called “Bloks” aimed at democratizing complex operations. Bloks were featured at Tibco Now conference.

I helped Independa with product strategy, product management, and design of their health and wellness service called Angela. Angela is a one of a kind Smart TV for older adults trying to stay independent. It has an enterprise side that enables care facilities to manage medical alerts, schedules, as well as the ability to monitor health measures. On the consumer side the TV allows the primary user to stay connected to a "Circle of Care" network through social components like Facebook and Skype. One of the most appealing aspects is the ability to view photos shared from a Facebook album in a big screen with ultra simple controls.
Independa had an amazing technology that allowed aging adults to remain independent in their homes while still remain connected to healthcare facilities and caregivers. This was a no brainer for enterprise caregiving facilities and sales seemed to be going well. The problem was that when the TVs were installed the patients did not want to use them. I was called to help with the user experience for the primary customer of the TV.
I worked directly with the executive staff to identify user psychographic behavior and goals. I then led a very successful live user testing that lead to a highly positive user feedback of its design.
A mobile application was also developed to enable a "Primary Caregiver" to register and setup all the social accounts to enable the "Circle of Care" network to start sending good wishes and photos. Read the full case study.
Independa went on to winning the CES INNOVATION AWARD IN “TECH FOR A BETTER WORLD” in 2015
Design consultancy that helped Sephora with a new in-store mobile POS with full loyalty program integration. Sephora received very positive feedback from customers. They loved it due to its convenience and speed to purchase items not found in stores.
It was a real pleasure working with Daniel on a cross functional project. He is very detail oriented and takes great pride in the work he puts forth. He put together a very complete prototype for the project and made sure to incorporate all the specifics that business provided as well as provided very insightful suggestions. He was very flexible to changing needs and requirements and is a great team player.

The screens above are of a project in which I led UX efforts to fully revamp the “Merchant Tool Suite” (MTS) used by merchants (of course) to manage Walmart.com. Their current application had become very bloated and required a very painful experience to manage the smallest task. This was a very complex project that required rapid domain knowledge gathering. I interviewed merchants from every possible department and gathered their needs based on existing internal roles. Once I could identify user goals I was able to do a card sorting exercise to cleanup the Information Architecture. I created a prototype and ran user testing sessions. The result was a very positive as it became clear that the new design would be responsible for increased efficiency and immense saving of hundreds of man hours!
I also had a chance to work with the @Labs team helping the Ops, DBaaS, SaaS, and Paas teams define and design tools that would enable Walmart to make other tools (BIG data!). Due to my technical background I was able to work directly with Architects and Engineers to create stories and project plan. I recall one project where I was given a DB schema and some comments as the product requirements :).

I was the Lead Information Architect at Verizon. I was there during a very exciting time from a user experience and product standpoint. Verizon introduced FIOS (fiber optic internet driven services) which enabled them to then introduce a major push towards media convergence (TV, desktop, mobile, phone). I was responsible for the direct UX design of the TV and the Entertainment portal called Surround. As well as a On Demand service in partnership with the Starz channel.
